The Beauty & Prominence of Hymenoptera 2020-present

“If the bee disappeared off the face of the earth, man would only have four years left to live.” ― Maurice Maeterlinck, The Life of the Bee

Pollinators like Hymenoptera (bees, wasps, yellow jackets, & hornets) are essential for life to flourish and they are a crucial element that keeps the ecosystem stable and balanced. Not only do they pollinate flowers, they also facilitate plant growth, prevent soil erosion, increase carbon sequestration, and produce consumable honey. Although they play a crucial role of maintaining balance within the ecosystem and biosphere, their importance often gets overlooked or unnoticed. Simply stated, this work explores the diminishing longevity of the bee and dives into one of its greatest and most beautiful contributions: pollination of flowers.
